Surgery

Wolfgang Schweiger, MD

The wide range of surgical operations of the Department of Surgery encompasses all of the organ areas of general surgery, visceral and vascular surgery. The special emphasis on minimally invasive surgical OR technologies (video laparoscopy, ultrasonic surgical cutting devices, electronically controlled vascular closure, and many more) allows operational techniques that cause less damage to patients and their tissue so the healing process is quicker. Implementing internationally accepted treatment standards, the focus of our medical endeavors and treatment plan is the patient as a human being and his or her individual therapy.

The services we offer in terms of diagnostics and therapy encompass:

Laparoscopy: gall bladder, hernias, appendicitis, colon and rectum, reflux
The treatment and therapeutic planning of patients with tumors is carried out in cooperation of the Departments of Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Provincial Hospital Klagenfurt.
